DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke blanked Furman, 7-0, Sunday at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center in Durham, N.C.

The Blue Devils took two of the three doubles matches to claim the opening point.  Garrett Johns and Sean Sculley, who rank 55th nationally, recorded a 6-0 victory over senior Jake Bhangdia and junior James Roelofse at flight one, and Due Guell and Luca Keist beat seniors Ivan Mitric and Drew Singerman, 6-1, at number two.  The flight three match was unfinished with Faris Khan and Niroop Vallabhaneni leading junior Henrik Atlevi and freshman Emil Westling, 5-1.

Furman's Mitric gave Johns a run at flight one singles, but Johns prevailed, 6-7(4), 6-1, 1-0(10-7).  Guell topped Bhangdia, 6-2, 6-2, at flight two, and Samuel Rubell downed Atlevi, 6-2, 6-2, at number three.  At flight four, Keist outlasted Singerman, 6-4, 7-6(4), and Andrew Dale defeated Westling, 6-1, 6-2, at flight five.  In the flight six contest, Michael Heller beat Roelofse, 6-0, 6-2.

Furman (2-2) will entertain Georgia Southern Friday at 3 p.m. at the Mickel Tennis Center.
