GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman overpowered Kennesaw State, 5-2, Sunday at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.

The Owls won two of three doubles matches to take the opening point.  Harvey Conway and Raul Garcia outlasted senior Ivan Mitric and junior James Roelofse, 7-6(5), at flight two, and Kevin Patel and Sebastian Osorio combined for a 6-2 win over freshman Emil Westling and senior Drew Singerman at number three.  The flight one match was unfinished with Furman seniors Jake Bhangdia and Henrik Atlevi knotted at 6-6 with Seru Tezuka and Sergio Ingles.

Furman won five of six singles matches for the victory.  Mitric beat Ingles, 6-1, 7-5, at flight one, and Bhangdia came from behind for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 advantage over Osorio at number two.  At flight four, Singerman defeated Patel, 6-2, 7-5, and Westling held off Tezuka, 7-5, 3-6, 6-0, at flight five.  Roelofse clinched the match for the Paladins with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Daniel Botti at flight six.

Kennesaw State (1-7) scored at singles flight three, as Garcia topped Atlevi, 6-1, 6-2.

Furman (4-4, 1-0 SoCon) will play host to Presbyterian Wednesday at 3 p.m.
