Greenville, S.C. – Furman's Cole McLagan was named the Southern Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and selected to Top Drawer Soccer's National Team of the Week following his outstanding performance in the Paladins' Saturday night victory at UNCG, it was announced on Tuesday.
 
A native of Lee's Summit, Mo., McLagan notched two goals and assisted on Furman's match-winning score in overtime to drive the Paladins to a 3-2 win in Greensboro, N.C. The redshirt-senior opened his account with a first half free kick before knotting the match at 2-2 on an 84^th minute goal. In the 97^th minute, he fed a pass to Josh Hosie, who sent a cross into the six-yard box that Shaun-Chris Joash redirected in to improve the Paladins to 4-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in SoCon play.
 
McLagan has totaled 18 goals and eight assists in 63 career matches for the Paladins while primarily playing as a defender. He led the Paladins with eight goals during the 2019 campaign.
 
Furman is back in action tonight as the Paladins open a three-game homestand with a 7 p.m. kickoff versus Mercer on Seagraves Field at Stone Soccer Stadium.
