Women's Soccer Visits Western Carolina, ETSU This Weekend

Kickoff Set For 6 P.M. On Friday Night Versus Catamounts

Greenville, S.C. – Furman looks to continue its push for a Southern Conference regular season title when it visits Western Carolina and ETSU in league women's soccer action this weekend.

The Paladins, who sit atop of the SoCon standings at 5-0-1, face the Catamounts in Cullohwee, N.C., on Friday at 6 p.m. before traveling to Johnson City, Tenn., to take on the ETSU Bucs on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Furman strengthened its position at the top of the SoCon table this past weekend with a 2-0 shutout of Chattanooga and 1-1 draw with preseason league favorites Samford. Head coach Andrew Burr's squad controls its own destiny in the race for the regular season with trips to WCU, ETSU and the regular season finale at Wofford on April 2, remaining on the schedule.

Junior Isabella Gutierrez leads the Paladins attack with three goals and two assists, while reigning SoCon Offensive Player of the Week Nievea Gaither, a freshman from Lilburn, Ga., has added two goals and three assists. Freshman goalkeeper Addison Corn, who garnered SoCon Defensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday, has fashioned a 0.23 goals against average in almost 400 minutes of work.
