RALEIGH, N.C. -- Senior Daniel Bernal posted a personal-best time of 29:17.95 in the 10,000m, ranking 11th on the NCAA East Preliminary Championships qualifying list, while freshmen Bethany Graham and Madelynne Cadeau posted personal bests to rank 11th and 12th, respectively, in the East in the 5,000m to lead the Furman track and field teams Friday in the second day of the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C.

A native of El Paso, Texas, Bernal placed 16th to lead a group of five Paladins in the 10,000m.  Senior Mason Coppi turned in a time of 30:02.42 for 28th place, ranking 17th on the East Prelims list, and sophomore Adam Beucler posted a time of 30:21.10 to land at 20th on the East Prelims list and 33rd at the meet.  Freshman Andrew Hammel is 27th in the East Region and finished 45th at the meet at 30:55.44, while senior Trent Mandato was 51st at the meet and 33rd in the East at 31:03.29.

Graham, who hails from Aldie, Va., cut over 20 seconds off her previous personal best with a time of 16:10.53 in the 5,000m, finishing 15th, while Cadeau, a native of Cumming, Ga., was just a second behind at 16:11.70 to finish 16th.  Freshman Beth Donnelly placed 33rd in both the meet and on the region qualifying list in the 1,500m with a time of 4:30.80.

On Thursday evening, junior Noah Dolhare crossed the line in 14:17.51 in the 5,000m, finishing 38th at the meet and ranking 30th in the East.  Freshman Dylan Schubert ranks 44th in the East after recording a time of 14:26.51 for 53rd place, and senior Jake Ogden turned in a personal-best time of 14:30.25 to land at 51st in the East ad 58th at the meet.  

Furman will compete in the final day of the Raleigh Relays and at the Weems Baskin Invitational in Columbia, S.C, on Saturday.
