Baltimore, Md. – The Furman women's lacrosse team concluded its regular season on Sunday afternoon with a 17-6 loss to the 10
th-ranked Loyola (Md.) Greyhounds from the Ridley Athletic Complex.
Furman falls to 11-4 overall while Loyola (Md.) improves to 9-2 on the season.
Hannah Dintino paced the Paladins offensively with three points on two goals and one assist.

Hannah Demis,
Avery McIlwaine and
Sydney McClure each scored one goal.
Sydney Catts contributed one assist.
Kaylee Coleman added a team-leading three ground balls, three caused turnovers and two draws.
Rachel Sindler and
Regan Lingo also picked up three ground balls.
In goal,
Meghan Deehan recorded six saves and one ground ball.
LaMotte reached a career milestone in the contest, becoming just the fourth player in program history to score 100 career goals. She joins
Abby Shields (2016-19), Ashley Trice (2015-17) and
Grace Pollak (2017-20) as the only players to accomplish the feat.
Jillian Wilson and Elli Kluegel led the Greyhounds with a game-high six points apiece on five goals and one assist. Livy Rosenzweig led all players with four assists. Wilson also compiled three ground balls and three caused turnovers, and Meaghan Quinn tied Wilson with three ground balls. Rosenzweig finished with a game-high nine draws.
In goal, Amber Bustard recorded three saves and Kaitlyn Larsson one.
Loyola (Md.) opened the game by scoring the first two goals before Dintino got Furman on the board at the 27:26 mark to cut its deficit down to 2-1. The Greyhounds answered with nine straight goals over the next 20:14 to take an 11-1 lead with just over seven minutes remaining. McClure scored with 1:58 left to put the score at 11-2. Loyola (Md.) netted a goal with 57 seconds remaining to hold a 12-2 lead at halftime.
Dintino began the scoring for the Paladins in the second half, recording her second goal of the game to trim the Greyhounds' lead to 12-3 at the 25:36 mark. The teams traded the next four goals with Demis and LaMotte posting goals for Furman. LaMotte's goal with 15:53 to go made the score 14-5. Loyola (Md.) finished the final 14:09 on a 3-1 run to secure the 17-6 win. McIlwaine registered the Paladins' goal during that stretch with 5:05 left.
Furman totaled 17 shots and 14 ground balls during the contest, while forcing the Greyhounds into 15 turnovers.
The 2021 SoCon Women's Lacrosse Championship is being held May 6-8 in Macon, Ga. The Paladins are the top seed for the tournament and will face the No. 4 seed on Thursday, May 6 at Mercer's Five Star Stadium.
