GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman tight end
Ryan Miller and tailback
Devin Wynn have been named 2021 Stats Perform Preseason FCS All-Americans, it was announced today.
Miller was a first team selection, and Wynn was tabbed to the third team.
A 6-foot-2, 221-pound redshirt junior, Miller is coming off a productive 2021 spring season that saw him collect consensus All-Southern Conference accolades and Associated Press First Team All-America honors after catching 15 passes for 254 yards and a team leading six touchdowns, which ranked second among all SoCon receivers.
The Jackson, Tenn., native hauled in two touchdown passes, including a fourth quarter, 73-yard catch and run for a score that helped complete Furman's comeback from 24-7 deficit in an eventual 44-37 overtime win over Samford.  The performance against the Bulldogs netted him SoCon Offensive Player of the Week honors — the first by a Paladin receiver since 2004.
Miller was recently named to the Athlon Sports FCS Preseason All-America squad.
A two-time All-Southern Conference selection at tailback, Wynn has registered playing time in 42 games and made 24 starts as a Paladin, rushing for 2,468 yards and 25 touchdowns. Â In 2019 he averaged a league leading 6.6 yards per carry among running backs while totaling 1,182 rushing yards and 14 scores, highlighted by a career best 217-yard, three-touchdown performance in a 58-14 road win over Samford.Â
The 6-foot, 211-pound, Greensboro, Ga., product heads into the 2021 season ranked ninth in Furman history in rushing and 10th in rushing touchdowns (25).
