Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's soccer team and head coach
Doug Allison announced today a 19-game schedule for the upcoming 2021 fall campaign including 12 to be played at Stone Stadium.
Along with the 12 home matches, the Paladins are slated for six contests against Southern Conference opponents with three taking place at Stone Stadium.
Furman begins preparation for the regular season with a pair of home exhibition games against Wake Forest (August 15) and North Florida (August 20).
The Paladins open their 2021 regular season schedule with back-to-back road contests at American (August 26) and George Mason (August 29).
Following the season-opening road trip, Furman returns home for four consecutive home games to start the month of September. The Paladins are slated to play Gardner-Webb (September 3), Winthrop (September 6), USC Upstate (September 11) and Davidson (September 15) during the four-match homestand.
Furman begins SoCon play on September 18 with a road game at Mercer before closing out the month with three matches over a nine-day span. The Paladins will play at UNC Asheville (September 21) and College of Charleston (September 29), and host Belmont in conference play (September 25).
The month of October will see Furman at home five times while traveling twice. The Paladins open the month with three straight home games versus Presbyterian (October 5), UNC Greensboro (October 9) and Bob Jones (October 12). The matchup on October 9 against UNC Greensboro is the program's annual "Quinn Game". After a conference road game at Wofford (October 16), Furman plays its final two home games of the season against Duke (October 19) and East Tennessee State (October 23). The Paladins conclude the regular season on October 30 at VMI.
The 2021 SoCon Men's Soccer Championship will begin on November 2 with first round contests being held at campus sites. The quarterfinals are scheduled for November 5 and semifinals November 7, with both rounds being hosted by the top two seeds. The championship game will be held either on November 13 or 14.
Furman claimed its 21
st SoCon regular season championship during the 2021 spring campaign after finishing 7-2-1 overall and 5-0-1 in league play.
