Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's soccer team returns to its non-conference schedule on Wednesday evening when it travels to Charleston for a 6 p.m. kickoff against the College of Charleston Cougars from Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point.

The Paladins (2-5) picked up their first Southern Conference victory of the season on September 25 defeating Belmont 2-1 at Stone Stadium.
Jake Raine recorded his team-leading third goal of the season in the contest while
Jacob Garzon collected his second.
Conor Dowler added his first assist of the year. Garzon led Furman with three shots including two on goal.
Ben Roberts finished with one save in goal.
The Paladins held a 12-10 advantage in shots and 4-3 in attempts on goal.
Raine leads Furman offensively this season with seven points on three goals and one assist.
Miles Fenton has dished out a team-high two assists. Roberts contributes 31 saves, a 1.65 GAA and .721 save percentage.
College of Charleston is currently 2-4-2 on the season after falling 2-1 at home to Drexel on September 25. Rio Murray and Kane Ritchie lead the Cougars on offense with five points apiece. Murray contributes three assists and one goal, and Ritchie two goals and one assist. Jakob Kristensen adds two goals and Jake Nicholson three assists. In goal, Cameron Smith has 40 saves, a 1.17 GAA and .800 save percentage. College of Charleston is under the direction of second-year head coach Keith Wiggans.
The Paladins and Cougars are meeting for the 36
th time in program history with Furman leading the all-time series 20-10-5. The teams last met during the 2017 season when the Paladins defeated College of Charleston 3-2 at the Aaron Olitsky Memorial Classic in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Furman continues non-conference play on Tuesday, October 5 when it hosts Presbyterian at 7 p.m.
