Paladins Continue SoCon Play this Weekend versus Chattanooga, ETSU

Game Times are Set for 8 p.m. on Friday, 4 p.m. on Saturday

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman volleyball team is back at Alley Gymnasium this weekend hosting the Chattanooga Mocs and East Tennessee State Buccaneers in two Southern Conference matches.

The Paladins take on Chattanooga Friday evening at 8 p.m. and East Tennessee State Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.

Fans can follow the action on www.furmanpaladins.com via live stats. Saturday's match versus East Tennessee State is being streamed via paid subscription on ESPN+. Updates will also be posted on the Furman volleyball Twitter page (@FurmanVB).

Tickets for this weekend's matches are $5 and can be purchased on www.furmanpaladins.com or at the main entrance of Alley Gymnasium. Tickets for Furman students are free with their student ID. All fans in attendance are required to wear masks.

The Paladins (6-5, 1-0 SoCon) began the conference portion of their schedule on September 22 rallying for a 3-2 victory over Wofford in Spartanburg. Bella Tolone and Maya Mrus both recorded double-doubles in the contest; with Tolone finishing with a career-high 21 kills and adding 11 digs, and Mrus 16 kills and a career-best 24 digs. Neci Harris collected 13 kills and Andrea Aceveda 18 digs. Sarah Turner dished out a career-high 42 assists.

Furman concluded with a .181 team hitting percentage and tied its season-high of 11 service aces. The Paladins also compiled 12 total blocks and held a 71-67 advantage in digs.

Furman has three players with over 100 kills this season in Harris (129), Tolone (128) and Mrus (100). Turner has compiled 272 assists and Ella Abraham 157. Defensively, Harris contributes 35 total blocks (11 solo, 24 assisted) and Aceveda 187 digs.

Chattanooga currently sits at 4-11 on the season and 0-2 in SoCon play, while East Tennessee State is 4-9 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

The Paladins hold a 48-25 advantage in the all-time series over the Mocs and trails 32-31 against the Buccaneers.

Furman travels to Charleston on Wednesday, October 6 for a 6 p.m. matchup in conference play versus The Citadel.
