Furman Women’s Lacrosse 2022 Schedule Released

Paladins Begin Season Feb. 16 at North Carolina

Greenville, S.C. – Seven regular-season home games and a road trip to 2021 NCAA semifinalist North Carolina highlight Furman women's lacrosse's 2022 schedule, Paladin first-year head coach Kirkland Lewis announced today.

In its eighth full season as a varsity sport, Furman women's lacrosse will play seven games away from Paladin Stadium. The Paladins are entering their first year as a member of the Big South Conference, after spending the last four seasons as a member of the Southern Conference. Furman joins High Point, Campbell, Radford, Winthrop, Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian, Mercer, Wofford, and Longwood in the Big South.

"We have a competitive schedule laid out in front of us, and we are looking forward to being challenged early in the season," said Lewis. "The nonconference games will prepare us for our first season in the Big South and also prepare us for late April when we want to be competing for the conference title."

Furman opens the season with a trip to Chapel Hill on February 16 to take on North Carolina before their home opener against Elon on March 5. The Paladins then host Virginia Tech on March 15 before traveling to Mount Saint Mary's on March 19 and Jacksonville on March 25.

The Paladins return home for a March 30 matchup against Wofford to begin conference play before traveling to Gardner-Webb and Longwood on April 2 and 6, respectively.
The Paladins play back-to-back home games, taking on former SoCon rival Mercer on April 9 and Radford on April 13. Furman hits the road to play fellow Big South newcomer Winthrop on April 16, then hosts High Point on April 20, before heading to Campbell on April 23.

The Paladins end the regular season in Paladin Stadium as they play host to Presbyterian on April 27.

The Big South Conference tournament will begin on April 30 with the higher seeds serving as hosts for the first round. The semifinals and finals will be held May 6-8 in High Point, N.C.
