Greenville, S.C. – The ninth-seeded Furman Paladins open play in the Southern Conference Women's Soccer Championship with a 7 p.m. first round match versus No. 8 seed Wofford on Tuesday at Snyder Field in Spartanburg, S.C.

Furman, 44-18-3 all-time in SoCon Tournament play, is in search of its eighth SoCon championship. The Paladins have played in the SoCon finals in each of the past three seasons and grabbed the crown with a 2-1 overtime win at Samford in the spring of 2021.
Tuesday's match marks the 35
th meeting between the Paladins and Terriers with Furman holding a 24-7-3 series lead. The regular season meeting between the schools, played in Spartanburg on September 29, ended in a scoreless draw. Furman is 5-0-0 all-time versus the Terriers in the postseason. In the most recent meeting, the Paladins claimed a 3-0 quarterfinal round victory in 2019.
Furman (8-8-2, 3-4-2 SoCon) concluded the regular season on Sunday with a 1-1 draw versus SoCon regular season champion Chattanooga at Stone Stadium.

The winner of Tuesday's match will travel to Chattanooga, Tenn., to face the top-seed Mocs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 28, in quarterfinal round play.
