WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Freshman Chloe Johnson (-1) shot an even 72 Saturday to move up into a tie for 19th to lead Furman in the second round of the 20th Annual Landfall Tradition, which is being hosted by UNC Wilmington at the par 72, 6,150 yard Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.

Johnson, who hails from Evansville, Ind., started on No. 10 and birdied her first two holes before parring her next seven holes to turn at 2-under.  After a bogey on No. 1, she settled in to par the next seven holes and finished at even par.  Johnson is six strokes behind leader Louisa Carlbom (-7) of San Jose State, who holds a one-stroke lead with scores of 67-70=137.

Senior Anna Morgan (+2) carded a 74 with a birdie on No. 6 and is tied for 34th after two rounds, while senior Sarah-Eve Rhéaume (+4) posted a 73 with birdies on No. 6 and No. 9 to tie for 46th.  Junior Caroline Crumrine (+7) finished the day with a 74 with three birdies, tying for 64th.

Freshman Liza Lapeyre (+9) birdied her final two holes to post a team-high four birdies.  Her 74 on Saturday places her in a tie for 72nd entering Sunday's final round.

Freshman Faith Johnson (+18), who is playing as an individual, is in 94th place after carding an 82 on Saturday.

No. 9 San Jose State (-14) extended its lead to four strokes over second-ranked Wake Forest (-1).  No. 4 South Carolina (-4) and 18th-ranked Florida State (-4) are tied for third.  Furman (+12) is in 13th place, just ahead of No. 11 Duke (+13) and 31st-ranked North Carolina (+22).  The 18-team field includes 13 teams ranked in Golfstat's top 50. 

The final round of the 54-hole tournament is set for an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday.  The Paladins will tee off on holes No. 12 through No. 14 and will play in a group with Duke and North Carolina.  Admission to the tournament is free and fans are welcome.  Results and live tournament scoring are available via www.FurmanPaladins.com and www.golfstat.com.
