WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Senior Anna Morgan (E) fired a 2-under 70 Sunday to tie for 25th to lead the Furman women's golf team in the final day of the fall season at the 20th Annual Landfall Tradition, which was hosted by UNC Wilmington at the par 72, 6,150 yard Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.

A native of Spartanburg, S.C., Morgan teed off on No. 12 and birdied three of four holes from No. 13 through No. 16.  She turned at 2-under then added a final birdie on No. 8.  Freshman Chloe Johnson (+3) tied for 34th after posting a 76 with five birdies, while freshman Liza Lapeyre (+8) and senior Sarah-Eve Rhéaume (+8) each tied for 55th.  Lapeyre carded a 1-under 76 and tied Johnson with a team-high five birdies after recording four birdies in six holes from No. 3 through No. 8.  Rhéaume, who posted three-straight birdies on No. 5 through No. 7, ended the day with four birdies and a 76.

Junior Caroline Crumrine (+12) shot a 77 with birdies on No. 2 and No. 7 in the final round to tie for 74th, while freshman Faith Johnson (+20), who played as an individual, carded a 74 with three birdies to finish 90th. 

No. 9 San Jose State (-22) posted a tournament record 842 over three rounds to win the tournament by six strokes over second-ranked Wake Forest (16).  No. 18 Florida State (-15) finished third, followed by fourth-ranked South Carolina (-12).  No. 26 UCF (+3) rounded out the top five.  The Paladins (+17) moved up two spots on the final day and finished in a tie with No. 39 Alabama (+17).  Furman finished head of four ranked teams, including Duke, North Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia Tech.  The 18-team field included 13 teams ranked in Golfstat's top 50. 

Charlotte Heath (-10) of Florida State and Louisa Calbom (-10) of San Jose State tied for the individual win after each posted a three-round total of 206, a tournament record.

The Paladins will open the 2023 spring season Feb. 20-21 at The Show at Spanish Trail in Las Vegas, Nevada.
