Spartanburg, S.C. – Furman and USC Upstate battled to a 0-0 draw in non-conference men's soccer action Tuesday evening at County-University Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C.
The tie snapped a two-game skid for the Paladins, who moved to 5-3-2 on the season, while the Spartans, unbeaten in their last five matches, moved to 2-4-3.

Ben Roberts made two diving saves in the first half to keep the Paladins even after 45 minutes before Furman controlled much of the possession in search for a goal in the second half.
Christian Kraus produced one of the Paladins' best chances shortly after the restart, but his shot toward the upper right-hand corner was deflected for a corner kick.
Alfredo Diaz-Santillan made several dangerous runs into the left side of the box and defender
Slade Starnes was denied on a header off a cross as the Paladins were shutout for just the second time in 2022.
Roberts, who finished with five saves, recorded his fifth shutout of the season. Luca Bulfon turned away three shots to post a clean sheet for Upstate.
The Spartans managed a 16-10 advantage in total shots over the Paladins and a 5-3 edge in shots on goal. The Paladins were awarded five corner kicks to only three for Upstate. Both teams were shown the caution three times in the physical stalemate.
Furman returns home on Saturday to host the annual Quinn Game for Down syndrome awareness. Kickoff between the Paladins and Mercer Bears is set for 7 p.m. at Stone Stadium.
