Furman Rolls Past Pfeiffer, 95-46

Acker's 21 Leads Five Double Figure Scorers

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Jaelyn Acker scored a game high 21 points to lead a contingent of five double figure scorers in a 95-46 win over Pfeiffer in women's basketball action Monday evening at Timmons Arena.

Acker, a freshman guard from Richfield, Wisc., and the Paladins' leading scorer on the season, needed just 21 minutes of playing time to claim game high scoring honors, as she drained 8-of-11 shots from the field, including 4-of-7 attempts from 3-point range.  She complemented her scoring with six rebounds, four steals, and three assists in helping Furman (4-3) to its second consecutive victory.

Also joining Acker in double figures were Jada Session and Grace van Rij with 17 points apiece, and Ella Riggs and Sydney Ryan, who both tallied 11 points.

Session earned her second double-double of the season by collecting 11 rebounds, as did Ryan who also claimed 11 caroms.

The Paladins had no trouble in grounding the Falcons, grabbing a 26-9 lead after one quarter.

Pfeiffer was paced by Alex Bynum with 15 points.

Furman dominated in the paint, running up a 52-24 scoring edge aided by a 63-29 rebounding advantage, including a 30-6 margin on the offensive glass.  The Paladins tallied 33 second chance points to the Falcons' four points.

The Paladins play at Georgia on Thursday in a 7:00 p.m. contest.
