GREENVILLE S.C. -- Elon handed Furman a 5-2 loss Saturday in men's tennis action at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.

The Paladins scored at flights four and five singles.  Sophomore Emil Westling recorded a 7-6(8-6), 6-1 victory over Camilo Ponce at number four, and senior James Roelofse topped Nicholas Condos, 6-1, 7-6(7-3), at number five.  

The Furman number one doubles team of senior Ivan Mitric and freshman Jamie Connel teamed up to beat Chung-Han Tsai and Daniel Martin, 6-4. 

The Phoenix scored in doubles with wins at flights two and three.  Kyle Frankel and Ben Zipay defeated Roelofse and Westling, 6-4, at number two, and Condos and Nicholas Campbell outlasted freshmen Cole Burnam and Elijah Poritzky, 6-3, at number three. 

Elon picked up four singles points, with Frankel defeating Mitric, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, at flight one, and Campbell coming from behind for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 advantage over Connel.  At flight three, Martin downed Poritzky, 7-6, 6-4, and Zipay topped graduate student Drew Singerman, 6-3, 6-3. 

The Paladins (8-4) will travel to Kennesaw State Sunday for a match up at the Betty Siegel Courts in Kennesaw, Ga.  First serve is set for 3 p.m.
