GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman cruised past Wofford, 5-2, Friday at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.

The Paladins won two out of three doubles matches to score the first point.  Graduate student Ivan Mitric and freshman Jamie Connel, who rank 60th nationally, beat Mark Endler and Will Fullett, 7-5, at flight one, and sophomore Ben Cahill and freshman Cole Burnam topped Ashe Ray and Alex Horn, 6-3, at number three.  The Terriers took the victory at flight two, where Bryce Keim and Callum Rendle held off senior James Roelofse and sophomore Emil Westling, 7-6(5). 

Furman won four singles matches, all in straight sets.  Mitric recorded a 6-3, 6-2 advantage versus Ray in the top-flighted match up, and Connel posted a 6-4, 6-2 win over Rendle at flight two.  At number three, freshman Elijah Poritzky downed Robert Young, 6-4, 6-0, and at number five, Westling blew past Horn, 6-2, 6-1.

Wofford won at flights four and six.  Endler outlasted Roelofse, 5-7, 6-1, 1-0(12-10), at number four, and Fullett won, 6-3, 1-6, 4-2, over Burnam when the match was retired.

Furman (13-8, 5-1 SoCon) will entertain The Citadel Saturday at noon in the team's regular season finale.
