Furman Cruises Past Presbyterian in Regular Season Finale, 16-7

Dintino Leads Paladins on Senior Night with Eight Points, Six Goals

Greenville, S.C. – Hannah Dintino scored a game high six goals on Wednesday evening as the Furman women's lacrosse team concluded the regular season with a 16-7 victory over the Presbyterian Blue Hose on Senior Night at Paladin Stadium.

The Paladins, who closed out the regular season winning four of their last five games, improve to 7-7 overall and 7-2 in the Big South. With the loss, Presbyterian drops to 2-15 on the season and 0-9 in conference play.

Furman held its Senior Night festivities prior to opening draw recognizing Kaylee Coleman, Lauren Farber, Hannah Nodar and Ellie Roser in a pregame ceremony.

Dintino finished with a career high eight points to lead the Paladins and matched her career best of six goals. A junior from Westminster, Md., Dintino also contributed two assists, one ground ball and one caused turnover. Paige Harman tied her career highs of five points and four assists while Meagan Beal added four goals. Sophie Shaw posted three points on two goals and one assist, and Farber scored twice. Anna Roser scored once, and Ellie Roser tallied three ground balls and one assist. Molly Faul picked up a career high three ground balls. Andrea Fisher and Amanda McCabe both caused two turnovers. In goal, Lily Rathbun registered three saves and two ground balls.

Kenzie Partsch and Willow Hammond both led the Blue Hose with two goals. Ana Boothe added two assists. Partsch also turned in three ground balls and two caused turnovers along with Kylie Sullivan. Heidi Shafer finished with six saves and one ground ball in goal.

Dintino scored five goals during the opening 17:48, and Beal added a hat trick, as Furman began the game with 12 consecutive goals to take a 12-0 lead. Shaw scored twice while Farber and Harman added one goal during the run. The Paladins kept Presbyterian off the board in the first quarter as Dintino's fifth goal of the contest with 12:12 to go in the second period increased their lead to 12-0.

The Blue Hose got two goals over the next 12 minutes before Beal's fourth of the game put Furman in front 13-2 at halftime.

Farber and Anna Roser netted goals for the Paladins in the third quarter before Dintino capped the Paladins' scoring with 12:37 remaining in the contest, making the score 16-5.

Presbyterian recorded the game's final two goals from Hammond and Partsch over the last five minutes on free position attempts to put the final score at 16-7.

Furman concluded the game attempting 30 shots and held a 17-16 advantage in ground balls and 20-6 in draws. The Paladins also forced the Blue Hose into 16 turnovers.

Furman wrapped up the regular season tied for third in the conference standings with Campbell but claimed the No. 3 seed for the Big South Women's Lacrosse Championship with its 16-15 overtime win in Buies Creek, N.C. on April 23.

The Paladins will host sixth-seeded Winthrop in the first round of the Big South Women's Lacrosse Championship on Saturday afternoon at Paladin Stadium. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
