Farmville, Va. – The Furman women's lacrosse team won its third consecutive Big South Conference game of the season on Wednesday afternoon after defeating the Longwood Lancers 15-10 at Elizabeth Burger Jackson Field.
Furman improves to 3-5 overall and 3-0 in the Big South while Longwood drops to 5-6 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.
Paige Harman led the Paladins offensively after tying her career highs of five points and two goals to go with three assists.

Meagan Beal and 
Sophie Shaw all had hat tricks for Furman. Beal also won double-digit draws for the third straight game, finishing with 11. 
Lauren Farber contributed three points on two goals and one assist and 
Ryan Bionda scored a career high two goals. 
Anna Roser picked up a career high four ground balls and 
Sophia Buzelis caused a career best three turnovers. In goal, 
Lily Rathbun made five saves and registered two ground balls and one caused turnover.
Miran Helfenbein and Haley Moomau had a team high four points apiece for the Lancers on three goals and one assist. Emily Cate Smith had three points on two goals and an assist while Ainsle Rowlison (2 assists) and Nicole Fordyce (1 goal, 1 assist) recorded two points. Ellie Rumbaugh scored one goal. Amelia Carlile finished with 17 saves and one ground ball in goal.
The Paladins trailed 5-2 after the first quarter but would outscore Longwood 5-1 in the second to hold a 7-6 lead at halftime. Furman scored the first four goals of the second quarter and took a 6-5 lead with 6:59 left in the half when Dintino scored unassisted. Farber's goal off the assist from Harman with three seconds remaining sent the Paladins into intermission leading by one.
Furman continued its run to begin the second half, scoring five consecutive goals to extend its lead to 12-6 at the 5:15 mark of the third quarter. The Paladins scored three free position goals to start the third quarter from Beal, Dintino and Shaw. Harman recorded back-to-back goals to give Furman a six-goal lead.
The Lancers answered with three straight goals to cut the Paladins advantage down to three, 12-9, less than five minutes into the fourth quarter. Furman closed out the game scoring three of the final four goals from Beal and Bionda to seal the 15-10 win.
The Paladins concluded the game holding a 39-17 advantage in shots and 16-13 in draws. Furman also finished with 23 ground balls and forced Longwood into 17 turnovers.
The Paladins return to Paladin Stadium on Saturday afternoon to host Mercer in league play at 1 p.m.
