High Point, N.C. – The third-seeded Furman Paladins were eliminated from the Big South Women's Lacrosse Championship on Friday evening after falling 22-4 to the No. 2 seed Mercer Bears in the semifinals at High Point's Vert Stadium.
With the loss, Furman's season ends with an 8-8 overall record. Mercer, who advances to the championship game on Sunday, improves to 13-4 on the season.
Paige Harman led the Paladins offensively after registering two points on one goal and one assist.

Sophie Shaw all scored one goal.
Sophia Buzelis tied her career high of four draws won while Dintino picked up three ground balls.
Katelyn Sousa caused a team leading two turnovers.
In goal,
Lily Rathbun recorded nine saves and collected two ground balls.
Hailey Rhatigan compiled a game high eight points for the Bears on five goals and three assists. Chloe Schaeffer led all players with six goals and tallied seven points after dishing out one assist. Shannon Urey scored four goals. Kayla Soltys won 13 draws and six different players picked up two ground balls apiece. Hannah Lind and Ainsley Malamala both caused two turnovers.
Iseabal Cryne made five saves in goal and added two ground balls.
Furman concluded the game with 19 shots while also finishing with 16 ground balls and seven draws.
