Greenville, SC - Furman Basketball's Weekend at the Well event on February 4 will be highlighted by a doubleheader against in-state and conference rival Wofford with the Paladin women starting the day at 3 p.m. and the men tipping off at 6 p.m.
The Weekend at the Well has become one of Greenville's premier basketball events highlighting the relationship of high-powered college basketball, Furman University, and the Upstate community.
The women's basketball team, in conjunction with the 50
th Anniversary of Title IX, will start the day hosting a very special National Girls and Women in Sports event featuring guest speakers, clinics hosted by Furman's women's athletic programs, and an autograph session. During the women's game, the program will recognize their "Women of Distinction", community partners, as well as the accomplishments of Furman faculty and staff. At the conclusion of the game, the women's team will sign autographs for all fans in attendance.
Prior to the start of the men's game, fans will be able to enjoy the Ingles' Fan Zone, located at the Furman entrance of the arena featuring live music, inflatables, face painting, and food.
The action continues when the men's team tips-off at 6 p.m. In addition to action-packed basketball, fans will enjoy in-game entertainment, special recognitions of Furman University faculty and staff, as well as the opportunity to honor all Greenville teachers in attendance.
Due to the generous support of Furman Athletics corporate partners BMW, Ingles', KW Beverage, and Bon Secours Heath System, fans at both games will enjoy a special halftime performance by the Amazing Sladek: America's Oldest Daredevil Acrobat.
All Furman fans are encouraged to wear white to the games in support of the Furman men's and women's basketball programs.
