GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's tennis team will entertain Charlotte Saturday and Sunday at the Furman Invitational at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C. Admission to the event is free, and fans are welcome.
The teams will play outdoors beginning at noon on Saturday. The first day of play will feature two doubles matches (one set each), followed by one singles match (two out of three sets, full third set if players split sets).
On Sunday, the teams will compete indoors starting at 9 a.m. One round of doubles will be followed by one round of singles.
Furman finished the 2022 season with a 22-7 overall record and claimed the SoCon's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament by capturing its 21st league title. The Paladins, which made their 14th appearance in the NCAA tournament, are under the direction of first-year head coach Michelle Dasso and return the reigning SoCon Freshman of the Year, Sara Snyder, who was ranked 65th nationally in the spring of 2022. Snyder, Ellie Schulson, and Jess Dawson all earned spots on the SoCon All-Freshman team and the All-SoCon second team for singles last season.
