Greenville, S.C. – Furman looks to improve its seeding for the Southern Conference Women's Soccer Championship and finish the regular season on a high note when it visits Snyder Field in Spartanburg, S.C., to face the Wofford Terriers on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Paladins enter the final match of the regular season at 7-4-5 overall and 3-1-4 in the SoCon. Furman is tied for fourth place in the league standings with Chattanooga and can secure a fourth-place finish and No. 4 seed in next week's tournament with a victory versus the Terriers. Western Carolina has locked up first place with Samford and ETSU set to decide second and third place on Sunday.
This past Sunday,
Valentina Mosquera and
Madison Luckett netted goals to pace the Paladins to a 2-1 victory over Mercer in the home finale at Stone Stadium. The win was the second straight for the Paladins and improved Furman to 4-1-4 in its last nine games.
Furman holds a 24-8-3 lead in the all-time series versus the Terriers (4-10-3, 2-5-1 SoCon). After a draw in last year's regular season meeting between the schools, Wofford downed the Paladins 2-1 in the opening round of the SoCon Women's Soccer Championship in Spartanburg.
