CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Furman's Madelynne Cadeau won the individual title in the Women's Gold 5K Friday at the Royals Cross Country Challenge at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, N.C.

A senior from Cumming, Ga., Cadeau led the Paladins with a time of 17:14.90.  Sophomore Emma Jones finished fourth with a time of 17:36.28, while freshman Lily Feingold was sixth at 17:57.84.  Sophomore Clair Garrett crossed the line in 18:25.92 for 21st place, and senior Beth Donnelly completed the Furman scorers in 86th place with a time of 19:40.30.  Senior Kylie Wittman turned in a time of 19:57.88 for 108th place.  

The Furman women scored 104 points for fourth place.  Milligan won the meet with 77 points, followed by Wingate in second place with 99 points.  College of Charleston also posted 104 and took third place by virtue of their sixth-place finisher. 

The Paladins will compete at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wis., on Oct. 13 and the Upstate Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C., on Oct. 14.
