Greenville, S.C. – No. 3 seed Furman will look to earn a berth in the Southern Conference Men's Soccer Championship Match when it travels to Snyder Field in Spartanburg, S.C., to take on No. 2 seed Wofford in semifinal round action on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The match will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Brian Hand calling the play-by-play. Links for the live stream and live statistics will be available at FurmanPaladins.com.
Furman earned its trip to Sunday's semifinal round by rolling past VMI, 4-1, in Friday afternoon's tournament opener in Spartanburg. Redshirt-junior
Christian Kraus netted a hat trick,
Slade Starnes scored a goal, and
Aaron Salinas stopped a penalty shot to help the Paladins advance.
Wofford earned a first-round bye after downing Furman, 1-0, in the regular season finale at Snyder Field on October 28. Despite the regular season loss to the Terriers, Furman holds a 41-16-2 lead in the all-time series versus Wofford. The Paladins eliminated the Terriers in the opening round of last season's SoCon Men's Soccer Championship.
The winner of Sunday's match will advance to face the winner of Sunday's Mercer at ETSU contest in next weekend's SoCon finals.
