GREENVILLE, S.C. -- This week's Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll, presented by FedEx Ground, ranks Furman No. 2, holding steady for the second week in a row.
A 17-14 road winner over Chattanooga on Saturday, a triumph that earned the Paladins at least a share of the Southern Conference championship and league's automatic berth to the FCS playoffs, Furman trails only reigning FCS national champion South Dakota State in this week's poll, which features a trio of  Big Sky Conference schools — Montana (3rd), Idaho (4th), and Montana State (5th) — in the top five.
Three other SoCon teams are also ranked — Western Carolina (17th), Chattanooga (19th), and Mercer (23rd).

Furman's 2023 SoCon championship — the 15th in program history — can be made outright with a victory over VMI (Nov. 11) or Wofford (Nov. 18).
Kickoff for Saturday's home contest against the Keydets, which will highlight Military Appreciation Day at Paladin Stadium, is set for 1:30 p.m.
The Paladins sport an eight-game home winning streak and have won 12 consecutive SoCon games — one shy of the school standard.
