Furman Rolls Past Bob Jones, 124-44

Largest Winning Margin In Program History

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman placed seven players in double figures and scored the second most points in program history in racing past Bob Jones, 124-44, in women's basketball play Wednesday evening at Timmons Arena.

Jada Session and Sydney Ryan led the scoring parade for Furman (6-4) with 18 points apiece in the 80-point victory, which clipped the previous highest winning margin of 66 tallied in a 125-59 win over Charleston Southern during 1990-91 season.

Niveya Henley scored 17 points, followed by Kate Johnson and Sydney James with 14 points each.  Tate Walters and Jaelyn Acker rounded out the double figure tallies with 11 and 10 points, respectively. 
 
All 13 Paladins in uniformed scored.

Bob Jones held a 12-10 lead four minutes into the game before Furman finished off the first quarter with a 19-0 run to take total command.

The Paladins opened the second period with an Acker 3-pointer and extended the run to 25-0 for a 35-12 advantage on a Henley 3-pointer at the 8:33 mark.

Furman connected on 10-of-14 3-pointers in the second and third periods to highlight a solid 13-for-22 performance from beyond the arc.  Ryan drained 4-for-5 from 3-point range to continue her solid season of work from distance.

The Paladins punished the smaller Bruins the boards, posting a 49-19 advantage with Session and Johnson claiming eight caroms apiece.  Furman outscored Bob Jones 68-2 in the paint.

Furman also forced Bob Jones into 30 turnovers, which the Paladins converted into 55 points.

The Paladins, who played reserves the entire fourth quarter, finished the contest shooting 54.5 percent (50x79).

Furman plays at USC Upstate on Saturday in a 4:30 p.m. contest.
