Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's tennis team fell 6-1 to the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs in non-conference action, Wednesday afternoon at Mickel Tennis Center.
Furman drops to 4-7 on the season while Gardner-Webb improves to 10-3 overall.
In doubles, the Runnin' Bulldogs won at No. 1 and No. 2 to secure the point and hold a 1-0 lead over the Paladins.

Chad Nash, playing in the No. 3 match, got things started for Furman by defeating Cathal Butler and Sebastian Harris 6-4. Gardner-Webb answered with a 6-3 victory at No. 2 and 7-6 win at No. 1 to claim the doubles point.
Elijah Poritzky tied the match for the Paladins at No. 3 when he topped Victor Putter in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
The Runnin' Bulldogs would then register five consecutive wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 to register the 6-1 triumph.
Furman will now travel to the state of Texas for three matches over a stretch of five days against Baylor (March 5), UTSA (March 7), and UT Arlington (March 9).
