LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Furman topped Liberty, 4-2, Friday at the Liberty Tennis Complex in Lynchburg, Va.

After dropping the doubles point, the Paladins (7-10, 3-0 SoCon) won four singles matches for the victory.  Senior Madison Dillon blanked Elsa Kirch, 6-0, 6-0, at flight five to put Furman on the board, then freshman Luca Victoria Vocke posted a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Maretha Burger at number six to give the Paladins a 2-1 edge.  The Flames scored at flight four before sophomore Sara Snyder defeated Esther Lovato, 7-6(5), 6-4, to put the Furman advantage to 3-2, then sophomore Marissa Pennings came from behind for a 5-7, 6-2, 6-0 win over Marina Davtyan at flight two to clinch the match.

Liberty (13-7) picked up doubles wins at flights one and two and scored at flight four singles.

Furman's flight three duo of Dillon and Vocke teamed up to beat Davtyan and Lovato, 7-5, in doubles.

The Paladins will entertain No. 39 Charlotte Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Mickel Tennis Center.
