FRANKLIN, TENN. -- Senior Ross Funderburke (-1) and sophomore Will Morlan (-1) are tied for 17th to lead the Furman men's golf team following Tuesday's second round of the Mason Rudolph Championship at the par 71, 7100 yard Vanderbilt Legends Club's South Course in Franklin, Tenn.

Morlan, a native of Alpharetta, Ga., posted a team-best 68 on Tuesday with four birdies, while Funderburke, who hails from Roanoke, Va., carded a 73 with two birdies in the second round.  

Senior Sam Lape (E) fired a 70 with four birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 9 and No. 10, and enters Wednesday's final round tied for 21st, while senior Walker Crosby (+2) shot a 74 with three birdies to move into a tie for 30th after two rounds.  Freshman Harris Barth (+4) is tied for 47th after tallying a 75 with three birdies on Tuesday.  

Vanderbilt's Gordon Sargent (-12) leads the tournament for the second-straight day after posting rounds of 66-64=130 to extend his lead to six strokes.

The Paladins (-1) recorded four birdies on No. 18 to move into a tie for fifth place with No. 20 Ole Miss.  Top-ranked Vanderbilt (-27) pulled away from the field with a 267 on Tuesday to extend its lead to 17 shots over No. 14 Tennessee (-10) and No. 16 Mississippi State (-10), who are tied for second, three strokes ahead of 44th-ranked North Florida (-7).

Furman is tied for second with a 3.12 stroke average on the par 3s and is tied for fifth on the par 4s (4.14) and par 5s (4.63).  The Paladins ranked second with 113 pars and tied for sixth with 32 birdies over the tournament's 36 holes.

The final round of the 54-hole tournament begins Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET with teams teeing off on No. 1 and No. 10.  Furman will tee off of No. 1 starting at 9:50 a.m. ET and will play in a group with North Florida and Ole Miss  Admission is free and fans are welcome.  Results and live tournament scoring are available via http://www.FurmanPaladins.com and http://www.golfstat.com.
