Pline was a member of Ferris State's basketball program his first three seasons before switching to football. As a freshman in 2018-19 he saw action in 30 games and averaged 5.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in the Bulldogs' 20-12 season. The following year he earned playing time in all 33 games and registered 8.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game clips in a 27-6 campaign that included a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference regular season championship. He averaged 7.4 ppg and 5.4 rpg over 20 games in 2020-21.
Pline is the second graduate transfer to join Furman's program this year. In January the Paladins announced the addition of Wingate (N.C.) University graduate defensive lineman
Sirod Cook.
Furman, coming off a 10-3 season a year ago that included a second round appearance in the FCS playoffs, is projected to return 18 starters and 38 players from its 44-man two-deep this fall off a squad that finished ranked a consensus 10th in both major FCS polls.
