Greenville, S.C. – The United States Marine Corps (USMC) and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced today that the Furman volleyball team was one of 1,332 programs to earn the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2022-23 season.
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.
The Paladins were one of five SoCon programs to receive the award along with East Tennessee State, The Citadel, Western Carolina, and Wofford.
Furman recently had 16 players selected to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll in

Kelsey Watkins. The Academic Honor Roll consists of student-athletes who participated in varsity sports and posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher for the academic year, were eligible for the entire academic year and were members of the final squad lists.
