Greenville, S.C. – The Furman volleyball team is set to face the UNC Asheville Bulldogs for the second time in three days Friday evening when it travels to Asheville, N.C. for a 6 p.m. non-conference match at the Justice Center.

The Paladins (3-1) and Bulldogs played their first of a home-and-home series on Wednesday with Furman earning a 3-0 sweep at Alley Gymnasium. Furman hit .311 overall and concluded the contest with 10 service aces, their most since recording 13 in a four-set win over UNC Greensboro in the first round of the 2022 SoCon Volleyball Championship. The Paladins held a 40-23 advantage in kills, 39-21 in assists, and 38-33 in digs.
Mary Beth Headley finished with a match high 12 kills, to go with eight digs, on .276 hitting to lead Furman offensively.
Izzy Castelloe and
Ava Augustson both finished with nine kills while Augustson contributed seven digs.
Ella Abraham dished out 31 assists. Defensively,
Kennedy Seekford had 12 digs and
Grainne McGrath four assisted blocks.
UNC Asheville currently sits at 3-2 on the season following the loss at Furman on Wednesday. The Bulldogs earned home wins over Alabama A&M, Maryland Eastern Shore, and North Carolina Central to start its season last weekend. UNC Asheville is under the direction of first-year head coach Amber Haver.
The Paladins and Bulldogs will be meeting for the 20
th time in program history with Furman holding a 12-7 lead in the all-time series.
The Paladins are back at Alley Gymnasium on Tuesday, September 5 to host USC Upstate at 7 p.m.
