GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's Anna Morgan is featured in the 2023-2024 ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel preseason watch list, as announced by Golfweek and Golf Channel on Monday. Â
A senior from Spartanburg, S.C., Morgan was named the Southern Conference Female Athlete of the Year and SoCon Player of the Year for the second-consecutive season and earned All-SoCon honors for the third-straight year in 2022-23. She led the league with a 72.43 stroke average over 35 rounds after winning individual medalist honors at the SoCon Championship and went on to tie for tenth at the NCAA Athens Regional. Â
Morgan notched four top-10 finishes in 11 events during the 2022-23 season and competed in her second-straight Augusta National Women's Amateur. She shot 12-under par to win the UNF Collegiate by six strokes and finished as runner-up at the Lady Paladin Invitational.Â
Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top female Division 1 collegiate golfer, with the winner being voted on by players, coaches and members of the college golf media. Named for Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top female golfer and to match the Haskins Award presented by Stifel, which acknowledges the top male Division I collegiate golfer. Furman's Natalie Srinivasan captured the ANNIKA Award in 2020, and Paladin Brad Faxon won the Haskins Award in 1983.
