HANAHAN, S.C. -- Freshman Audrey Ryu (-5) fired a final-round 67 to finish in a tie for 15th and lead Furman Tuesday at the 18th annual Cougar Classic at the par 71, 6,269 yard Yeamans Hall Club in Hanahan, S.C.

A native of Dublin, Ohio, Ryu finished out round two with birdies on two of her final six holes to card a 2-under 69.  She teed off on No. 16 to start round three and birdied No. 18 before making the turn.  She birdied No. 4 and No. 9 on the front and was 3-under with six holes to play before adding additional birdies on No. 12 and No. 14, logging a team-best five birdies in the final round.  Ryu, who made her collegiate debut for the Paladins, concluded round three at 4-under to pace Furman both in the final round and in the tournament.  

Senior Anna Morgan (-4) recorded a 68 in round two with a team-high five birdies then added a 70 with birdies on No. 2 and No. 9 to tie for 20th, while junior Alise Knudson (+4) notched four birdies, including three birdies in four holes from No. 10 through No. 13, to shoot and even 71 in round two.  In the final round, she posted a 1-under 70 with four birdies to tie for 60th.  

Senior Caroline Crumrine (+12) recorded a 76 with birdies on No. 17 and No. 18 in round three, tying for 80th, while sophomore Liza Lapeyre (+19) carded a 77 with three birdies in round two and an 80 in the final round to tie for 92nd.   

Freshman Kelsi Mauzy (+14), who played as an individual, posted a 76 with birdies on No. 1 and No. 8 in round two then added a 77 with a birdie on No. 17 in round three to tie for 84th. 

Clemson's Savannah Grewal (-16) and Ingrid Lindblad (-16) of LSU tied for the individual championship after each posted a three-round total of 197.

Ole Miss (-36) surged to a five-stroke win after leading the field with a 270 in round two and a 271 in the final round.  LSU (-31) finished second, followed by Clemson (-30) in third place.  UCF (-23) finished fourth, and Kentucky (-20) completed the top five.  Furman (+3) finished 12th in the loaded field, ahead of Power 5 programs N.C. State (+4), Illinois (+20), Wisconsin (+23), and Penn State (+24).  The Paladins also defeated host College of Charleston (+16) by 13 strokes. 

Furman returns home to entertain 15 teams at the Lady Paladin Invitational September 22-24.
