Key SoCon Soccer Tilt Between Furman And ETSU Set For Saturday Night

Road Match In Johnson City, Tenn., Kicks Off At 6 P.M.

Greenville, S.C. – Furman men's soccer travels to Johnson City, Tenn., on Saturday night for a key Southern Conference match-up against first-place ETSU.

Kickoff at Summers-Taylor Stadium is set for 6 p.m. and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live statistics available through StatBroadcast at FurmanPaladins.com.

ETSU enters the match at 5-5-3 overall and atop the SoCon standings at 3-0-0 in league play. Following Saturday's 1-0 win over Mercer. The Paladins, 7-3-2 overall and 2-1-0 in the league, can pull even at the top of the standings and earn the tiebreaker versus the Bucs with a victory on Saturday. Furman closes the regular season the following Saturday at home against Mercer while the Bucs travel to UNC Greensboro in their regular season finale.

Saturday's match marks the 23rd all-time meeting between Furman and ETSU with the Paladins holding a 12-4-6 series advantage. ETSU, however, claimed a 2-0 decision in last season's meeting in Greenville, S.C.

Furman has won three consecutive matches entering the weekend, including a 2-0 victory over Wofford on Tuesday night at Stone Stadium. Lloyd Wamu Snell opened the scoring in the second half and senior Christian Kraus doubled the lead from the penalty spot for his team-leading fifth goal of the season.
