HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- Furman senior Anna Morgan (-2) won individual medalist honors Tuesday at the 2024 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship at the par-72, 6,036 yard Moss Creek Golf Club's South Course in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

With the win, Morgan, who captured her second-straight league title, clinched the SoCon's automatic individual bid to the NCAA Regionals, which will be held May 6-8.  The NCAA field will be announced live on the Golf Channel on Wed., April 24, at 2 p.m.

A native of Spartanburg, S.C., Morgan entered Tuesday's final round in third place.  She birdied No. 1 and No. 4 to turn at 1-over then went on a tear on the back nine, birdieing No. 10 then notching three-straight birdies from No. 14 through No. 16 to take the lead and finish with a three-day total of 70-75-69=214.  She won the tournament by two strokes over Sophie Bert (E) of ETSU, who finished second at 216.

"I am super excited to have won the conference championship this year," said Morgan.  "It was a bit of a battle, and I am proud of the way I finished and excited for regionals next!"

Junior Alise Knudson (+13) and freshman Audrey Ryu (+13) tied for 18th.  Knudson carded a 75 with birdies on No. 4 and No. 15, while Ryu recorded an 80 on Tuesday.  Senior Caroline Crumrine (+14) posted a 79 with birdies on No. 5 and No. 16, tying for 20th.  Freshman Kelsi Mauzy (+18) shot an 85 on Tuesday.

The Paladins (+38), who have produced a league-best 19 individual medalists at past tournaments, finished third in the team competition.   ETSU (+15) won the title, while Samford (+28) took second place.
