Paladins Visit Unbeaten College Of Charleston On Tuesday

Kickoff Set For 6 P.M.

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's soccer team is back on the road Tuesday evening when it travels to face former Southern Conference foe College of Charleston.
 
Kickoff between the Paladins and 23rd-ranked Cougars is set for 6 p.m. on Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point Athletics Complex in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. The match will be streamed live on FloSports. Furman enters Tuesday's matchup at 2-2-2 on the season following a scoreless draw at Davidson on Wednesday night. Sophomore Aaron Salinas, a native of Grand Prairie, Texas, recorded three saves to earn his first shutout of the season for the Paladins.
 
College of Charleston outscored Stony Brook 4-2 in its CAA opener on Saturday in Stony Brook, N.Y., to remain perfect on the season at 6-0-0. The Cougars have averaged 3.5 goals per game through their first six matches.
 
Tuesday's non-conference tilt marks the 38th meeting between the Paladins and Cougars with Furman holding a 20-11-6 series lead. In the most recent meeting between the instate rivals on September 19, 2023, Christian Kraus scored in the 76th minute to help Furman earn a 1-1 draw versus the Cougars at Stone Soccer Stadium.
 
Following its trip to Charleston, Furman returns home to host Gardner-Webb on Tuesday, September 24.
