NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Furman junior Jenna Mulhern won the 5,000m and the Paladin DMR team also took gold Friday at the Vanderbilt Invitational at the David Williams II Recreation & Wellness Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Mulhern, a native of West Chester, Pa., turned in a time of 17:01.20 to lead all runners in the 5,000m. Senior Madelynne Cadeau placed third with a time of 17:08.11, while junior Emma Jones placed tenth at 17:33.48. Freshman Joiner Evans posted a time of 17:54.26 for 14th place.
Furman's DMR team of freshman Nysa Males, freshman Claire Cook, freshman Jais Ward, and junior Carly Wilkes recorded a time of 11:36.33, beating out 15 other teams for the win. Â
In the 1,000m, senior Megan Marvin turned in a time of 2:45.91 for fourth place, and freshman Zoie Lamanna finished 19th with a time of 2:54.64. Senior Callie Harper placed 29th (3:01.38) followed by junior Clair Garrett in 30th (3:01.88). Freshman Katie Sobieraj finished 33rd at 3:07.07.
The meet will conclude on Saturday, with Furman competing in the 800m, mile, and 3,000m
