Greenville, S.C. – The nationally-ranked Furman men's soccer team goes in search of its record 22
nd Southern Conference regular season title when the Paladins travel to Spartanburg, S.C., to face the Wofford Terriers in the regular season finale for both schools on Saturday night.
Kickoff at Snyder Field is slated for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Brian Hand on the call. Links for the live stream and live statistics are available on the men's soccer schedule page at FurmanPaladins.com.
The Paladins enter Saturday's rivalry match at 11-1-4 overall and 3-0-1 in league play. Furman, with 10 points from four SoCon matches, is tied for first place with Mercer atop the league standings and the two have secured top-two seeds and first round byes in the SoCon Men's Soccer Championship. Furman and Mercer played to a 1-1 draw on October 4. If both teams win on Saturday, they will have 4-0-1 records in SoCon play with wins over each of the other teams in the standings and the draw vs. each other. In that scenario, the ensuing tiebreaker is goal differential in SoCon matches (currently +2 in Furman's favor). Should the two remain tied and the goal differential is equal, the next tiebreaker is goals scored in SoCon matches (currently +2 in Mercer's favor). Should the two remain tied and the goals scored total is equal, the next tiebreaker is goals allowed in SoCon matches (currently +5 in Furman's favor). If the two remain tied and the goals allowed in SoCon matches is equal, the tie will be broken by a coin flip by the SoCon Commissioner.
