Women's Soccer Returns Home To Host League-Leading Samford On Sunday

Kickoff Set For 2 P.M. And Admission Is Free

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's soccer team, fresh off a three-match road trip, returns home Sunday afternoon to host the league-leading Samford Bulldogs on Seagraves Field at Stone Soccer Stadium.

Kickoff for Sunday's Armor Up Match is set for 2 p.m. and the contest will be streamed live on ESPN+. Links for the live stream and live statistics can be found online at FurmanPaladins.com. Admission to every regular season match at Stone Stadium is free of charge.

The Paladins are looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss at UNC Greensboro on Thursday evening that dropped Furman to 8-2-2 overall and 2-1-1 in league play. The Spartans scored in the opening 18 minutes of the match and held on to hand Furman its first league loss and first loss of any kid since August 14.

Samford enters the weekend at 6-2-4 overall and 3-0-1 in SoCon play following a 5-0 thrashing of The Citadel on Thursday night. The Bulldogs, who claimed the SoCon Tournament title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament last season, are tied for first place with ETSU.

Sunday afternoon's clash marks the 26th all-time meeting between the perennial league powers with Samford holding a 13-6-6 series advantage. The Paladins and Bulldogs battled to a 1-1 draw during the 2024 regular season before Samford eliminated Furman, 1-0, in the SoCon Tournament semifinals in Homewood, Ala.
