GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman volleyball team is back on the road this weekend when it travels to East Tennessee State and Wofford for a pair of Southern Conference matches.
The Paladins begin the weekend on Friday heading to Johnson City, Tenn., for a 6 p.m. first serve against the Buccaneers. Furman then makes the short drive to Spartanburg on Saturday to face the Terriers at 7 p.m.

The Paladins (13-3, 4-0 SoCon) are currently on a season best six-match winning streak after sweeping back-to-back contests at home last weekend versus Mercer and The Citadel. Furman, who is 4-0 to open league play for the first time since 2017, started with a four-set win over Mercer before defeating The Citadel in three sets.
Ashley Stein and
Lauren Haynes paced the Paladin offense against Mercer, combining for 29 of the team's 50 kills. Stein led Furman with a match high 15 kills on .387 hitting while Haynes poured in 14.
Emily Navarro and
Eva Wheeler both dished out 19 assists. Navarro contributed a double-double after finishing with 10 digs.
Kennedy Seekford led all players with 23 digs. Furman led 47-46 in assists and 64-63 in digs. The Paladins also tied their season high of 12 blocks led by
Tennyson Gorman's career best 10. Gorman became the first Furman player to have double digit blocks in a match since September 4, 2024, when teammate
Izzy Castelloe posted 10 in a 3-2 win at USC Upstate.
In the victory over The Citadel, Castelloe and
Amber Watson led the Paladins with nine kills apiece. Watson hit .316 for the match while Castelloe compiled a .240 clip. Stein poured in seven kills on .500 hitting and 10 digs. Navarro added another double-double with 21 assists and a team high 11 digs. Furman never trailed in the contest and hit .296 as a team and limited The Citadel to a negative hitting mark at -.026. The Paladins held a 40-20 advantage in kills, 36-20 in assists, and 57-37 in digs. Furman finished with double digit blocks for the fourth consecutive match, totaling 10.
The Buccaneers enter the weekend tied atop the SoCon standings with Furman at 4-0 while sitting at 10-5 overall. Wofford is 7-8 on the season and 3-1 in league play. The Paladins currently own a 55-18 advantage in the all-time series over Wofford but trails East Tennessee State by a 39-34 margin.
Furman returns to Alley Gymnasium next weekend, October 17-18, to host Chattanooga and Western Carolina.
