GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman women's head basketball coach Pierre Curtis today announced the addition of 6-foot forward Emma Briggs to the Paladin program for the 2026-27 season.
Briggs, from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and projected spring graduate of Benet (4A) Academy, helped lead her squad to a 29-3 record, conference and regional championships, and sectional runner-up finish her junior year while landing all-conference, all-area, and third team all-state honors. Â That followed a sophomore season that saw Benet Academy post a 24-7 record and regional crown and Briggs land all-conference and all-area laurels.
She represented Great Britain in the FIBA U16 Eurobasket Championships, where she was a member of the bronze medal team.
"We are excited about adding Emma to our program," said Curtis, now in his third season as head coach of the Paladins. Â "She's a tough, gritty forward who can do a little bit of everything on the floor at a high level. Emma has a knack for making winning plays and affecting the game in ways that don't always show up in the box score. She's a perfect fit for our program and Furman as a whole."
In addition to basketball, Briggs has also starred in track during her prep career, twice capturing region championships in the shot put. Â As a junior she finished as a sectional runner-up in the event and qualified for state championship competition.
