GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Following a five-day break in the schedule, Furman resumes its three-game home stand on Saturday when it plays host to UNC Asheville in a 2:00 p.m. clash at Timmons Arena.

The Paladins' early season slate has included clashes against three power conference foes — Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Clemson — with the latest, a 76-58 loss, coming against the Tigers on Sunday in Timmons Arena.
Furman (2-5) led Clemson 33-31 at the half before the Tigers rode 64.3 percent shooting in the second half to claim the victory.
Junior guard
Lauren Bailey, a transfer from Gardner-Webb, paced the Paladins with 16 points on 5-for-5 shooting from 3-point range, and sophomore guard
Chantelle Stuart followed with 13 points, hitting both attempts from beyond the arc to help key Furman's best 3-point shooting effort (8x11) on the young season.
The Paladins sport three double figure scorers in a trio of sophomores — forward
Clare Coyle (11.4 ppg) and guards
Raina McGowens (10.3 ppg) and
Alyssa Ervin (10.1 ppg). Â Coyle also tops the squad in rebounding (6.9 rpg).
Furman, which lost all five starters off last year's squad, has struggled with turnovers so far this season with 159 miscues (22.7 avg.).
UNC Asheville (2-4) is coming off an 80-54 home loss to Wofford on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs own a 67-50 road win over Western Carolina and a 48-39 home setback to Mercer.
Furman claimed a 68-50 win at UNC Asheville last season and has won the last eight meetings with the Bulldogs, as well as 11 straight in Greenville since 1987-88 season. Â The Paladins hold a 22-14 lead in the all-time series.
Furman's three-game home stand will conclude on Wednesday versus Presbyterian.
