Furman Volleyball Places Four On CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman volleyball student-athletes Izzy Castelloe, Tennyson Gorman, Emily Navarro, and Kennedy Seekford were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, it was announced on Tuesday.

Student-athletes on the all-district teams were required to maintain at least a 3.50 GPA, play in 90% of their team's games or start at least 66% of the contests.

Castelloe garnered second team All-SoCon accolades this season after finishing second on the team with 74 blocks and third with 222 kills on .219 hitting. She notched 10 or more kills in seven matches highlighted by 13 on .591 hitting on October 25 in the Paladins' 3-1 win over UNC Greensboro. She hit a career best .600 to go with nine kills and a season best seven blocks on Augusts 29 when Furman opened the season with a 3-0 sweep of West Georgia in Atlanta, Ga. Defensively, Castelloe had at least one block in all but two matches she played in.

Gorman picked up first team All-SoCon citations in 2025. She led the SoCon, and currently ranks 16th nationally, with 158 blocks, which is third-most for a season in school history. She topped the Paladin offense with 278 kills, ranking sixth in the single season record book, on .364 hitting. The two-time SoCon Defensive Player of the Week recorded her first career double-double on November 1 with 10 kills and 10 blocks at Mercer. She set a new career high with 11 blocks in the Paladins' 3-2 victory over regular season champion East Tennessee State. Gorman would finish with 10 or more kills in 11 matches highlighted by a career high 16 twice versus Presbyterian and Winthrop.

Navarro led Furman with 583 assists, eighth-best in the SoCon, in 27 matches played with 25 starts. She compiled a team best 11 double-doubles and tied for third on the team with 225 digs. Navarro dished out double digit assists in every match this past season highlighted by a season high 33 in a five-set victory at Western Carolina. She posted 10 or more digs 11 times and had 15 during a five-set match against Chattanooga. Navarro matched her career high of three blocks in the Paladins' 3-0 sweep at home of Western Carolina.

Seekford appeared in 29 matches and paced Furman with 460 digs, marking the third consecutive season she has led the team in digs. She ranked fifth in the SoCon in digs and concluded the year with 10 or more in 23 contests. Seekford also led the team with a career best 37 service aces and tied her career high of four in the regular season finale at Chattanooga. She totaled a season high 29 digs, one of eight matches she registered 20 or more, during the second contest of the season, a 3-1 win over Presbyterian. Seekford currently ranks ninth all-time at Furman with 1,433 digs.

The 2025 Academic All-District Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
