GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman head women's tennis coach Michelle Dasso announced today the team's schedule for the 2026 season, which is highlighted by home matches versus Power 5 opponents Iowa, Wake Forest, and Virginia Tech plus a full slate of Southern Conference competition.
"College tennis has an amazing product, and we highly encourage fans to come out and support our team this spring season," said Dasso. "We have a hungry, passionate young group who is invested, possesses strong character skills, and competes with conviction."
The Paladins will open the season in January with five-straight home matches at the Mickel Tennis Center. Furman will entertain both Iowa and Presbyterian on Jan. 17 before squaring off against Austin Peay State on Jan. 19. During the weekend of Jan. 24-25, the Paladins will take on Wake Forest and Davidson to conclude the home stand. The road schedule begins with a Jan. 30 match at Charlotte.
The SoCon opener is slated for Feb. 4 at Western Carolina. Furman will then return home to face Memphis on Feb. 15, marking the Paladins lone home match for the month, then will conclude February's competition with a road trip to Atlanta to face Georgia State and Kennesaw State, Feb. 21-22.
For spring break, Furman will head to Ft. Myers, Fla., to take on Florida Gulf Coast on March 2 and Toledo on March 4. March will prove to be a busy month for the Paladins with nine competition dates. During the final weekend of spring break, the Paladins will face Belmont and Virginia Tech at home on March 7-8 before entertaining Elon on March 14. The SoCon schedule picks up in earnest beginning March 21 at UNC Greensboro, the first of six-straight league contests that will complete the regular season schedule. Furman will travel to Mercer on March 24 then play host to an ITA College Tennis Weekend match against Samford on March 29. The Paladins will battle Wofford for the Pinson Cup at the Mickel Tennis Center on March 31 then conclude the home season versus Chattanooga on April 3. Â
As usual, Furman and East Tennessee State will square off in the regular season finale. The year's meeting is slated for April 11 in Johnson City. Â
The Southern Conference Tournament is scheduled for April 16-18 in Chattanooga, Tenn. In case of rain, the tournament will conclude on April 19.
During the 2025 season, Furman posted a 21-4 overall record and was a perfect 7-0 against SoCon opponents. After winning the regular season championship, the Paladins claimed the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament by capturing their 22nd SoCon tournament title. Furman, which finished the season ranked 46th nationally and ninth among mid-major programs, recorded wins over several ranked opponents in 2025, including then 22nd-ranked Alabama, 34th-ranked Yale, and No. 42 Rice.
