GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman women's head basketball coach
Pierre Curtis has announced today the addition of four transfers to the program.
Joining the Paladins are Kyraha Parnell, a 6-foot-3 sophomore forward from Galax, Va., Lauren Bailey, a 5-foot-8 junior guard from Greeneville, Tenn., Alyssa Ervin, a 5-foot-11, sophomore guard from Carroll, Va., and Channing Warren, a 6-foot-3 sophomore forward from Orlando, Fla.
"We believe our goals were accomplished with this class," said Curtis. Â "We wanted to enhance our shooting, toughness,and versatility, and each of these players fits that perfectly."
Parnell spent the 2024-25 season at George Washington, where she saw action in nine games. As a prep she was a four-time first team all-conference selection at Virginia Episcopal School.
Bailey registered action in 57 games and made 49 starts over the last two seasons at Gardner Webb, where she averaged 8.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Named to the Big South Conference All-Freshman Team for the 2023-24 campaign, she tallied a career high 24 points against Radford this past season on the strength of six 3-pointers. Â She was a 3A all-state selection at Greeneville High School her senior year.
Ervin saw playing time in 22 games and averaged 2.9 points per game at Elon this past season. Â It included a 12-point performance versus College of Charleston and 10-point outing against Virginia Tech. Â Â She was four-time all-state choice and member two two state championship teams at Carroll County High School.
Warren played the 2024-25 season at Boston University, where she earned playing time in 24 games, highlighted by a 15-piont, six-rebound performance in a 77-56 win over Yale. Â She was a two-time all-metro selection at Timber Creek High School.
Parnell, Bailey, Ervin, and Warren will join three freshmen – 5-foot-7 guard Sophia Pearl from Woodstock, Ga., 6-0 forward Brooklyn King of Dallas, Texas, and 6-foot-3 forward Ty Berry from Fort Thomas, Ky. – who signed with the Paladins in November.
Furman posted a 16-16 record this past year under Curtis, in his second season in charge of the Paladin program.
