Greenville, S.C. – Five members of the Furman softball team earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, it was announced on Tuesday.

Ansley Chiang,
Caitlin Goldwait,
Kiley Perry, and
Lauralee Scott were named to the academic all-district team.
Burroughs earned all-league honors as a DP/Utility (non-pitcher) after batting .324 as a junior this season. She totaled 14 doubles and led the Paladins in home runs (6), RBI (29), slugging percentage (.541), and walks (28). A computer science major, the junior sports a 3.53 GPA.
Chiang batted .225 with a pair of doubles and scored 17 runs as a sophomore. The Paladins' everyday second baseman, she is majoring in biology and sports a 3.96 GPA.
Goldwait, who garnered second team All-SoCon honors for the second straight season in 2025, led the Paladins with a .359 batting average. The senior and leadoff hitter also paced the Paladins in hits (55) and runs (27). A native of Sugar Land, Texas, Goldwait stepped up her play in the SoCon by hitting .376 and posting a .440 on base percentage against league opposition. She graduated with a degree in politics and international affairs while maintaining a 3.83 GPA.
Perry batted .268 with a team-best 17 doubles and added five home runs and 23 RBI during her final season with the Paladins. Her 27 career homers rank second on Furman's career list. The Alpharetta, Ga., native graduated in May with a 3.84 GPA and a degree in health sciences.
Scott, a native of Greenwood, S.C., picked up a win over Harvard and tossed a one-hit shutout versus Holy Cross during her senior season. The right-hander also recorded a 4-3 victory over Clemson during her junior year. The health sciences major graduated in May with a 3.84 GPA.
Each school was allowed to nominate five softball players for CSC Academic All-District honors. The student-athletes were required to carry a minimum 3.50 GPA and have reached thresholds for games played or started.
