Women's Soccer Entertains Georgia State Sunday Evening

Kickoff Set For 6 P.M. At Stone Soccer Stadium

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's soccer team continues its four-match homestand Sunday evening when it hosts the Sun Belt Conference's Georgia State Panthers on Seagraves Field at Stone Soccer Stadium.
 
Kickoff for Sunday's match is set for 6 p.m. at admission is free. Furman-Georgia State will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live statistics available via StatBroadcast at FurmanPaladins.com.
 
The Paladins opened the regular season with a 1-0 loss to South Florida at Stone Stadium on Thursday night. The Bulls, coming off a 12-2-5 record a year ago, opened the scoring before the 30-minute mark and held on to preserve the shutout. Sophomore goalkeeper Reese DeJong stopped seven shots to keep the Paladins within striking distance throughout the season opener.
 
Georgia State cruised to a 7-0 victory in its Thursday night opener against Truett McConnell. Hina Suzuki found the back of the net three times to tie a school single game goals record in the victory.
 
Sunday's match marks the fifth all-time meeting between the Paladins and Panthers with Furman holding a 2-1-1 series edge. The schools have not met since 2021 when Georgia State rallied from a 2-0 deficit to forge a 2-2 draw at Stone Stadium.
